How to dress for your shape?

november 14, 2010

There are so many shapes of a woman's body. Here is an insight of how to dress your best no matter what your shape is.

Pear: Pear shaped woman have a larger lower body, thighs and butt. A great butt is a great thing, however if you are looking to conceal a bigger bum, it is all about bringing attention upwards, wearing a v neck or ruffles up top bring the focus up and away from the "trouble zone."

Apple: The apple shape is a rounder tummy, the trick with this is to bring the waistline up to an empire. When you bring the waistline up to right under the bust and have the shirt float away from that point, the stomach is concealed and a waist is still defined.

Straight: This is a shape that is straight up and down, the idea would be to create curves and shape. Use details like ruffles, ruching and embroidery on pockets to bring more emphasis to your boobs and butt and make them seem a little more va va voom.

Top heavy: Look out girlfriend, these are girls, with great girls. Busty babes who want to downplay this should try to wear v necks, they do show cleavage, however, a tighter high cut top will make it look like you are stretching your clothing to fit over your breasts. the v neck brings the line down and elongates the neck.

Hourglass: These are the girls with great curves, and the important thing is to cinch in that waist. Bringing in the waist will show off those great curves and make the great womanly shape Marilyn was famous for.

Full Figure: Curves are great and being bigger doesn't mean you have to be blah. Dressing for this shape is all about fit and structure, jackets create a great shape, and tailoring helps these women get the most out of their clothing.
